I think this coming month or so is one of the busiest we have, it is full of community events and activities so check out what’s on and I look forward to seeing you in the coming days and weeks. To make it easier to stay up to date both the church (YiewsleyBaptistChurch/) and I (@richblakelobb) can be found on facebook so do like/friend so you can keep in touch.
Our regular events this month include Nursery Rhymes at 9:30am on Thursday 11th May (for under 5’s with their grown up), The Gathering at 4:30pm on Sunday 14th May (for those in high school) and Tea Time Church at 4:30pm on Sunday 21st May (for families)
In addition to our regular events we have three special events coming up:
Our next Charity Quiz Night in support of Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice will be taking place at 7:30pm on Saturday 20th May. Come with a team or join one when you arrive, entry is free with donations taken for the charity.
With the forthcoming General Election we want to be able to hear from those people who are putting themselves forward to represent us in Parliament. We have invited the candidates from the most popular parties locally at the last election to participate in a Question Time style debate with those who attend able to ask the questions about the issues that concern you. The debate will take place on 28th May from 7pm and is open to all but to help with planning free tickets are available from Eventbrite
Any finally we are most excited about our forth coming Community Fun Day on Saturday 3rd June from 11am-3pm. We have a small stage with performances confirmed from local artist Alanah Black and the Yiewsley and West Drayton Band amongst others, we still have a couple of spaces if you’d like to join in with dance, music or story telling. There will be stalls selling fair trade products, hand made pens, cards, plants, and cakes, etc. We have a number of charities including Yiewsley Cornerstone Centre, Harlington Hospice and the Community Cancer Centre. There will be a Fire Engine, bouncy castle, parachute games and plenty of fun activities. Plus there will be refreshments including home made cakes, sandwiches, teas, coffees, drinks and BBQ. The day will also include my Ordination at about 1:30pm.
