YBC – What’s On September 2017

After a what has hopefully been a restful summer with fewer church activities and picnicking in the park we are gearing up for a new season at Yiewsley Baptist Church. There will be a new preaching series on Sunday mornings exploring The Art of Discipleship, children’s groups all begin afresh, there are some special events and things to look forward to later in the year…

Over the coming weeks Nursery Rhymes returns on the second Thursday each month from 14th September (9:30am-10:30am) so parents/ carers bring your under 5’s along for a sing and a dance. Our weekly Coffee Morning opens it’s doors from Friday 15th September with a fresh pot of coffee, friendship, occasional craft and toys for the children. Tea Time Church will take place on 17th September at 4:30pm with a friendly family worship service and a bring and share tea which is always a real treat.
For children in Years 1, 2 and 3 our Monday evening Anchors group reopens, if you are in these school years and would like to come along new children are welcome to come and try it out from 25th September (5-6:30pm).

Thanks Giving Lunch

Sunday 1st October see’s us celebrate with a service of thanks giving (10:30am) and an opportunity to bring donations for the young, single homeless in our area. Items such as packets and tins of food, toiletries and things for baking are gratefully received. Following our morning service (approx. 12:30pm) we will share in a simple community meal of soup and bread, remembering those for whom food poverty is a daily struggle. To help with catering it would be helpful if you could let me or one of the others in the leadership team know if you are coming. The meal is free but it is suggested that in keeping with the theme we all consider how much we might spend on a meal out with family/ friends (whether that’s fish and chips or a 3 course meal in a 5 star restaurant) and donate this amount to the cause of the young, single and homeless too.

On Saturday 25th November we are planning to hold a Christmas Market… would you or anyone you know be interested in having a stall, selling home made creations or getting involved in some way or another, if so contact You may just want to put the date in your diary ready for coming along to pick up some pre-Christmas treats as we launch our advent and Christmas celebrations.
